Supply & installation costs;
We recommend & do hundreds of installations using the G-Net System which has front and rear cameras together with a huge 256GB SD memory card. The G-On2 is one of the few systems available that includes a large memory card.
Installation only costs;
We charge an hourly rate of $250 per hour, charged at the first hour is an hour regardless, plus each 15-minute increment.
Most front and rear systems that have an internal rear camera take about an hour; some models of BMW’s or Audi’s can take a bit longer.
We have installed just about every brand of Dash Cam on the market and yes, everything is hardwired and professionally installed. With some entry level dash cameras that just have a cigarette lighter plug we will wire in an accessory socket up under the dash so it’s out of sight. If the camera you have is one of these models, they may have a hardwire kit which will enable the ‘Park Mode’ to work if it has that feature.
Hardwire kits are often sold separately.

Most high quality dash cams have built in or even optional GPS module accessories that can enable the system to capture the speed, location and coordinates of the motor vehicle when it is functioning. So some models are easy to install yourself, but they can post other practical problems inside the vehicle.
There are dash cam models that might have a really long cable so that it can be run from the top of the windscreen and tucked under the roof lining or door pillar. This can be a cleaner type of installation but takes time, patience & you run the risk of damaging your vehicle’s interior. You have to minimise any visual obstructions the cables should run from the windscreen and along the front passenger side to the power outlet. This looks better but in the event the cables become loose, there are less possibilities to cause visionary obstruction or distract the driver operating the motor vehicle.

There are quite a few new models of dash cam that no longer operate from the cigarette power outlet and may require a direct hard wired installation.
The big benefit of a hard-wired installation is you can have support for things like ‘parking mode’ , ‘surveillance mode’ or ‘motion detection mode’ that can do continuous recordings even when the vehicle ignition is turned off. The power wiring kits vary for each respective model, and may also be known or refereed to as; UPS (uninterrupted power supply) or power prevention discharge device. These models are designed to operate until they sense the vehicle battery has reached a particular voltage to make sure it doesn’t drain your battery.
There are some models of dash cam that can also be set up to operate as a reversing camera. These can be integrated to work with other security systems.
